Belonging to the Cyperaceae family, it is native to North America, South America, and parts of Europe where it grows in shallow waters. With its fine, grass-like leaves, this aquatic grass usually reaches a height of 2 to 4 inches, making it ideal for foreground placement in aquascapes. It creates a lush green carpet that enhances the natural beauty of any aquarium. • Easy to combine with other carpet aquatic plants for aquascaping
  • Enhances the natural appearance of freshwater aquariums

Care Guide

Dwarf Hairgrass is a hardy hair grass aquarium plant that thrives in a wide range of setups when provided with the right conditions.

Light

Medium to high lighting is best for Eleocharis Parvula to achieve dense growth and a healthy carpet effect.

Temperature

This dwarf hairgrass aquarium plant grows well in temperatures between 68°F to 82°F, making it suitable for most freshwater tanks.

CO2

While Eleocharis Parvula can grow without added CO2, supplementing it will encourage faster and fuller carpet formation.

Water Parameters

It thrives in soft to moderately hard water with a pH range of 6.5 to 7.5, making it adaptable to different aquarium environments.

Growth Rate

This aquarium grass grows at a moderate pace. With proper care, it will gradually spread and form a thick, natural-looking carpet in the aquarium.

Propagation

This aquarium grass propagates by sending out runners beneath the substrate. Over time, these runners spread and form a lush dwarf hairgrass carpet across the aquarium floor.
