Weeping Moss Vesicularia Ferriei LIVE AQUARIUM PLANT
Vesicularia ferriei 'Weeping', commonly known as Weeping Moss, is believed to originate from China and has been distributed by Oriental Aquarium Plants. 'Weeping' is a fleshy, 1-3 cm tall hanging moss with teardrop-like bright green shoots. It is best attached to driftwood or roots, as its drooping growth pattern helps to create depth & contrast in the aquarium. 'Weeping' has low demands, is fast growing and should be pruned frequently with scissors to maintain an attractive shape.
This is a very easy plant to keep without much extra care, but like all plants, it can benefit from CO2 supplementation, although this is not required. Like many mosses, it does not typically respond positively to most chemical plant supplements. Many aquarists report success with this moss purely through keeping a well-maintained aquarium with no supplementation.
This listing is for the tissue culture form of Weeping Moss. Tissue cultures are superior to traditional forms of aquarium plants in many ways. They are produced in a completely sterile environment which eliminates the possibility of them carrying pest snails or algae spores. They have a shelf life (before introduction to the aquarium) of several months if properly maintained & they are housed in a nutrient gel until introduced to the aquarium. To introduce a tissue culture plant to the aquarium, simply rinse off as much nutrient gel as possible, then plant as usual. The nutrient gel will not harm your aquarium.
